T-Mobile taking advantage of their existing customers?

Here’s what you would have seen if you went to the T-Mobile site last Friday and were looking to buy the Samsung Blast with a new contract.

It started at $179 and had a healthy $80 discount with another $50 mail-in rebate.

Checking out showed:

Ok, no big deal. $100 to get the phone and a new plan.

On the other hand, if you were logged in as an existing customer and opted to "upgrade" your phone you would have been presented with:

WTF? They’re increasing the price by $20 for existing customers and reducing the online discount by another $10?

What kind of jackassery is that?
