Jupiter and the Moon were doing a dance together and while I’d taken an early picture of them together, my sister asked if I was going to get another shot at their closest approach. Well, of course.
While outside I took the time to pull the scope out into the driveway and attempt a few shots of M42. Came away with one halfway decent shot taken at ISO 1600 for 30 seconds.

I took my scope out into the front yard to look at the Moon, Venus, Saturn and Mars as well as wait for an ISS passover.
Soon after dark I was able to get a good shot of the Moon and Venus together. Click through for larger versions.
A through the eyepiece shot of the Moon.
And finally, a shot of the ISS passing beyond the house. I got several shots but they all show a bit of movement at the beginning even though I thought I’d set a shutter delay.
Fun, fun, fun.
Went for a ralk with the boy and was rewarded with a great view of the Moon.
Another morning ralk with Chip, the perfect dog. There were some great crespucular rays in the East.
And the Moon in the West
It was a good night to watch the ISS pass by the Moon.

We went off to Watters Creek again.
Chip and Susan relaxing in what should be the Allen version of Cafe del Mar.
