Glorious sunrise this morning followed by more gloriousness while I was driving in (blinding golds and yellows reflecting off the clouds) and as I’m turning away from my car to walk into work I see this. “Ooooh, that’s interesting.” and pull out my camera. Next time I’ll get out the tripod too. It’s difficult to get bracketed shots by hand.
I like to talk about moving away from Dallas to more interesting places, but we do get pretty sunsets from time to time.
We had slightly more than enough people for a set and a few ceili dances and great music by John Burleson, Michelle Feldman and ??? (we didn’t get his name!)
We did the North Kerry set, Haymakers Jig, Siege of Carrick, Rakes of Mallow, 4-hand and 6-hand. Great music, great fun!

Today Susan and I went up to UNT to do a short Irish dance class.
Afterwards we went wandering around downtown Denton and stopped in to the Abbey Inn restaurant (and pub) for lunch and a few beers.
Susan had soup and salad and I had a wonderful seafood stew stew and grilled-cheese sandwich.

It was a light group this time with some new people who dropped by so we did more ceili.
The music was grand, wish you’d been there!

It was time for another session at Trinity Hall with music played by the Lone Star Ceili Band.
Some new people came out to play and we ran through a couple of sets, some ceili and some stepping about!

It was practically an all-regular evening with two sets joining in during the workshop portion and staying around for two hours of dancing!

Saturday I spent some time disassembling a very old TV so my in-laws could use the cabinet for general purpose storage.
Of course, I had to get some pictures first
It was soon followed by much disassembly, resulting in TV guts in a box
and an empty cabinet.

I took my scope out into the front yard to look at the Moon, Venus, Saturn and Mars as well as wait for an ISS passover.
Soon after dark I was able to get a good shot of the Moon and Venus together. Click through for larger versions.

And finally, a shot of the ISS passing beyond the house. I got several shots but they all show a bit of movement at the beginning even though I thought I’d set a shutter delay.

Another morning, another chance to get interesting pictures.
First up was a critter seen swimming toward the shore of the pond. After waiting next to the water I was rewarded by a sighting of him swimming back out to sea.
And then of course a beautiful sunrise.
